We’re proud to welcome Hays County as our first law enforcement partner in Texas”

MISSOULA, MT, UNITED STATES, August 26, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — Big Sky Decon is continuing to expand the use of its UV-C decontamination technology across law enforcement, manufacturing and property management, with several new developments announced following a busy summer for the Montana-based company.

The Hays County Sheriff’s Office in Texas recently deployed three Big Sky Decon Area Decon Units inside its corrections facility, becoming the company’s first law enforcement partner in Texas.

Correctional facilities can face ongoing challenges involving bodily fluids, feces, odors and other contaminants in holding cells and shared spaces. Big Sky Decon’s portable UV-C Area Decon Units give staff an additional decontamination tool for treating these environments and addressing harmful microorganisms and persistent odors.

“We’re proud to welcome Hays County as our first law enforcement partner in Texas,” Big Sky Decon said. “Correctional facilities deal with contamination issues that can be difficult to address quickly and consistently, and our goal is to give their teams another practical tool they can deploy where it is needed.”

Manufacturing Interest Grows in Coolant Decontamination Unit

Big Sky Decon is also seeing increased interest from manufacturers in its Coolant Decontamination Unit, or CDU.

The system continuously treats machine coolant and is intended to address problems that can lead to foul odors, coolant disposal and replacement, tank cleaning and manufacturing downtime.

According to Big Sky Decon, the CDU can help manufacturers extend coolant performance while reducing the amount of time and money spent replacing contaminated coolant and cleaning machine coolant tanks.

The technology was developed to address a recurring operating problem in manufacturing facilities where coolant condition can directly affect maintenance requirements, employee working conditions and production interruptions.

Property Decontamination Services Expand in Missoula

Big Sky Decon’s service division has also experienced its busiest summer to date.

The company recently formed a new partnership with Missoula Property Management, which manages more than 2,500 properties.

Big Sky Decon has been treating residential and rental property issues involving smoke damage, pet urine, persistent odors and apartments requiring additional decontamination between occupants.

Using its patented UV-C technology, the company can address certain contamination and odor problems without relying on ozone, masking fragrances or harsh chemical treatments.

The service is available for homeowners, landlords and property managers dealing with difficult odor and decontamination issues that traditional cleaning may not fully resolve.

UV-C Technology Across Multiple Industries

Big Sky Decon develops decontamination technology for environments where contamination, microorganisms and difficult odors can create operational problems.

Its current applications include law enforcement and corrections, manufacturing, property management and residential decontamination.

The company’s recent expansion into Texas, growing adoption of the Coolant Decontamination Unit and increased demand for property decontamination services reflect the broader range of applications now being addressed by Big Sky Decon technology.
