The 18th Annual Event Sees Huge Surge in Interest After Being Featured in HBO Documentary
LOUISVILLE, KY, UNITED STATES, September 29, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — The Victorian Ghost Walk® returns to Old Louisville Friday through Sunday, Oct. 16-18, for its 18th year, and organizers are preparing for the event’s biggest year yet following its appearance in HBO’s “Murder in Glitterball City.”
The two-part documentary, inspired by David Dominé’s bestselling true-crime memoir “A Dark Room in Glitter Ball City,” premiered Feb. 19 on HBO and HBO Max and features the Victorian Ghost Walk as part of its exploration of Old Louisville, its history, folklore and famously haunted reputation.
“The response since the documentary aired has been remarkable,” said Dominé, founder of Louisville Historic Tours and creator of the Victorian Ghost Walk. “People saw the ghost walk on HBO and now want to experience it, and Old Louisville, for themselves. We have people flying in from Texas, California and other states just because of what they saw in the film.”
Part walking tour and part live theater, the annual event transforms Old Louisville into a stage as lantern-bearing guides lead guests along its Victorian streets and into historic homes, where the neighborhood’s colorful history and darker folklore unfold.
Among the historical characters and legendary haunts brought to life are many familiar favorites, including Jennie Bowman, the young maid brutally killed by burglars in her employers’ Brook Street home; Lucinda, the grief-stricken woman who proclaimed herself Queen of America in 1885; and millionaire Alfred Victor du Pont, who died at the hands of his scorned mistress. Or at least that’s what some newspapers said.
Tours depart every 15 minutes from 6 to 9 p.m. each night, Oct. 16, 17 and 18 (13 departures nightly), from the Conrad-Caldwell House Museum, 1402 St. James Court. Each experience lasts approximately two hours. Tickets are $40 plus fees.
