Denver, Colorado – October 27, 2026 – PRESSADVANTAGE –
Denver Dive, an independent digital publication covering music, art, food, style and community life, will mark six months of publication on October 30, 2026. The publication launched at denverdive.com on April 30, 2026, after a team of seven, including five journalists, founded it in 2025.
The founding team includes co-founders and editors Thomas Rutherford, Colin Wrenn, Emily Rodz, Kym Drapcho, Genevieve Meehan and Evan Dale. Denver Dive is independently owned, and its stories are written by people who live in the city and abide by a human-only editorial policy that excludes generative AI.
In its first six months, Denver Dive has published 109 stories across its editorial sections and has quickly gained an online following. Its reporting has covered stories across Denver’s key neighborhoods and has featured stories in seven key areas, highlighting venues, events, businesses, bands and organizations.
Denver Dive launched with five editorial sections: Soundboard, Scene and Heard, Pour and Plate, Style and Knick-Knacks. Soundboard covers music, Scene and Heard covers art and entertainment, Pour and Plate covers food and beverage, Style profiles local residents’ personal style and Knick-Knacks carries long-form profiles and features. Since launch, the publication has added two more sections, bringing the total to seven. The first is Outdoors, and the second is Mind and Body.
The publication has also introduced a recurring series of articles. A monthly picks feature, published at the start of each month, gathers selections from individual editorial team members. Denver Street Style Diaries profiles residents and the stories behind their personal style, with its third installment published in September. In October, the publication began issuing Hard Truths and Colfax, a series published every two weeks that highlights Colfax restaurants affected by the Bus Rapid Transit construction project, starting with a profile of the effects on Shish Kabob Grill.
Coverage over the first six months has ranged across the city. The publication reviewed the first Denver PorchFest, a free neighborhood music festival held in the Baker neighborhood on October 3, and interviewed its lead organizer, Bradley Schwartz. It also reported on the opening of the first Arc Thrift Stores outlet in West Denver, and published a guide to 150 places to visit to mark the 150th anniversary of Colorado statehood.
“When we launched in April, the goal was to tell the stories of the people who make this city what it is, and six months in, that is still what drives every piece we publish,” said Thomas Rutherford, co-founder and editor of Denver Dive. “The city keeps giving us more stories than we can get to, from a festival spread across the porches of Baker to the restaurants holding on along Colfax. Heading into 2027, we want to keep growing our network of local writers and photographers and go deeper into the neighborhoods that do not get enough attention.”
Looking ahead to 2027, Denver Dive plans to add more content on events, Denver’s music scene, local restaurants and much more. The publication continues to send an ongoing newsletter and to maintain a curated events calendar on its website. At launch, the founding team said it intended to grow its contributor network as coverage expands across the city’s cultural communities.
